Introducing CUP Graduate Student Equity Award recipients

This award supports PhD and master’s students whose research focuses on community engagement and the wellbeing of children, youth, families, and communities.

26 October 2022

CUP is thrilled to announce that ten U of A graduate students have received a CUP Graduate Student Equity Award. This opportunity supports equity-deserving students at the PhD or master’s level whose research focuses on community engagement and the wellbeing of children, youth, families, and communities.

As part of the award, students participate in a “community of practice,” which is a supportive learning space where they share their passion for engaged research, reflect on their experiences, talk about ethical challenges, and learn directly from each other. Along the way, students will access mentorship and networking opportunities to enhance their understanding of community-engaged research.

This award marks a special moment for CUP. We are delighted to extend our core values of engaged research, diversity of knowledge, and respectful partnerships to a wider segment of the student body. More importantly, we are excited to learn from these inspiring up-and-coming community-engaged researchers.

Congratulations to:

  • Audrey Medwayosh (Master of Arts in Sociology)
  • Mary Etem Mbiatem (PhD in Counselling Psychology)
  • Jessie Conrad (Master of Arts in Community Engagement, School of Public Health)
  • Jah-Amaka Enwedo (PhD in Educational Psychology)
  • Megan MacNeil (PhD, School of Public Health)
  • Luc Sauze (Master of Public Health)
  • Hanji Baek (Master of Public Health)
  • Michael Barrett (PhD in Educational Psychology)
  • Bryna Gibbons (Master of Public Health)
