Giving to Dean of Students' Programs

In the Office of the Dean of Students, we actively work to create a caring community among U of A students, staff and faculty. Your gifts help support all students in achieving success and reaching their academic and personal potential.

Student Mental Health Fund

Through the Student Mental Health Fund, we can focus on providing specialized mental health services, improving student resilience, and reducing mental health stigma on campus. The combination of these efforts helps students to thrive on campus as they explore their personal and academic potential. Your gift ensures that we can continue to prioritize student mental health and implement innovative solutions.

Women In Scholarship Engineering, Science and Technology (WISEST)

WISEST promotes experiences, education, and careers for young women in science and engineering. WISEST takes action through hands-on experiential field trips for grade 6 girls, annual conferences for high school girls, and the facilitation of summer research projects led by grade 11 girls and mentorship from experienced researchers. Your gift to WISEST helps expose more girls to career possibilities in engineering, science, and technology.

Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI)

Since 2011, the Undergraduate Research Initiative (URI) strives to create a culture in which every undergraduate student has opportunities to engage in research and creative activities – in and out of the classroom. Your gift to the URI ensures that more undergraduate students are supported as they pursue original research and creative activities – life-changing experiences that provide students with knowledge, skills, and confidence to prepare them for their future careers.

First Peoples' House

Standing true to beliefs as First Peoples and guided by cultural teachings, the First Peoples' House provides an environment of empowerment for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit learners to achieve personal and academic growth.

Supporting First Peoples' House helps to build a welcoming place for all First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students, creating culturally safe spaces and empowering students to achieve academic success and personal growth. Your donation ensures that we are able to better support their needs through academic support, essential resources, and culturally relevant programming.
