Master of Management Analytics Capstone Showcase Highlights Emerging Talent in Data and AI
On August 5, 2026, students, faculty, industry professionals, and community members gathered at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton for the Master of Management Analytics (MMA) Capstone Showcase, hosted by the Alberta School of Business.
The annual showcase provided graduating MMA students with the opportunity to present the work they completed throughout the program and demonstrate how analytics, data, and emerging technologies can be applied to real-world business challenges.
The afternoon began with a networking reception and an interactive viewing of student capstone displays, giving guests the opportunity to connect directly with students and learn more about their projects.
The formal program featured opening remarks from Trish Reay, Vice Dean of the Alberta School of Business, and Borzou Rostami, Academic Director of the Master of Management Analytics program. Their remarks reflected on the students’ accomplishments throughout the year and the continued importance of developing professionals who can translate data into meaningful business insights.
Throughout the showcase, students highlighted projects that brought together technical analysis and strategic decision-making. Their work demonstrated the wide range of ways analytics can support organizations, from improving processes and informing business strategy to identifying new opportunities through data.
Beyond showcasing technical skills, the event highlighted an important part of the MMA program: the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and apply analytical thinking to practical challenges. Conversations between students and attendees created an opportunity to exchange ideas and build connections across academia and industry.
The AI Centre for Decision Analytics (AI4DA) was proud to support the showcase and celebrate the students completing the program. Events like the MMA Capstone Showcase help strengthen connections between emerging analytics talent, researchers, and industry while creating opportunities for new ideas and collaboration.
Congratulations to the 2026 MMA cohort on completing the program and sharing their work with the broader Alberta School of Business community.
