Trainee Requirements

Canadian Medical Graduates

Applicants must have:

• an MD or equivalent degree
• Passed the Anesthesiology specialty exam of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Applicants who have completed anesthesia training / post CCST are most welcome to apply.

International Medical Graduates

International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must have completed a training program in anesthesia and be a fully recognized specialist in a previous jurisdiction prior to undertaking a fellowship; must be in accordance with the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta to obtain an independent practice license in anesthesia through the Approved Jurisdiction Route to registration.
