Round tables - Two Discussions Reflecting on a Year of War

Marking one year of the Russian Federation's condemnable full-scale attack and war on Ukraine, CIUS convened two round tables to examine all that has changed — and stayed the same — over the course of 365 days.
One year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine: CIUS Media Monitoring Service reports
In a discussion on 24 February 2023 marking the first year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the CIUS Media Monitoring Service (MMS) team reflected on how the media has evolved and the challenges it faces when reporting about Ukraine. MMS team members also shared their plans for the future of the project at the University of Alberta as it continues to produce weekly analysis on Ukraine-related reportage in the media.

Understanding Ukraine One Year after Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion
In a livestream on 3 March 2023, CIUS scholars held a digital round table to explore the international community's changing attitudes toward Ukraine in the areas of scholarship and academia, culture, religion, media, and mass information.
