𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟯: 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 (2023) [French with English subtitles, 1hr 8m]
In March 1933, Gareth Jones, a young Welsh journalist, entered Ukraine clandestinely. The "breadbasket" of the Soviet Union was then experiencing a totally unprecedented famine, both in terms of its scale and its causes. Stalin, who wanted to keep the unrealistic objectives of his five-year plans and to punish the peasants who resisted collectivization, decided to confiscate all crops in Ukraine. On his return to Britain, the journalist alerts the world, but the lies and manipulations of the USSR triumph.
𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿: 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀 (2015) [English, 30m]
This documentary includes the testimonies of Ukrainian Canadians about how they survived the Holodomor — the genocide planned and carried out by dictator Joseph Stalin in 1932–1933. In this film, collected testimonies vividly show unexplored period of history, the consequences of which continue to respond today.
