CMPUT 644 - Data-Driven Cyber Security

Overview

CMPUT644 is a seminar-based course. CMPUT644 explores recent research topics in data-driven cyber security. Students will learn state of the arts in security measurement and AI/ML for security research. Topics may include poisoning attacks, federated learning, malicious domain detection, enterprise log analysis, anomaly detection, fraud detection, malware detection, network traffic analysis. The primary goal of the class is to train students to conduct research, if successful, could lead to a conference paper at top security venues. There will be guest speakers from industry and academia during the semester.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites, but this course will assume basic knowledge of machine learning and cyber security to read and write research papers. If you have a doubt, contact the instructor.
