Delve into the latest advancements in our understanding of galaxies—the grand cosmic structures that shape our universe at our first Calgary Lecture Series of 2025!
Join Erik Rosolowsky, Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Physics at the University of Alberta, as he takes us on a journey through the cosmos. Discover how galaxies form, evolve, and connect generations of stars, the origins of elements, and even the search for life in the universe. Attendees will also be able to view the night sky through the telescopes following the lecture at the Rothney Observatory.
This event is now SOLD OUT. Unfortunately, the waitlist is also full. We appreciate your interest in this lecture!

Erik then completed postdoctoral research at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics before joining the faculty at the University of British Columbia's Okanagan Campus. Since 2013, he has worked at the University of Alberta. When he is not busy working, he enjoys baking, running, and hiking, as well as board and card games. - Cost
