The agricultural sector in Southern Alberta heavily depends on irrigation, leaving it susceptible to the economic repercussions of water shortages or drought for both farmers and consumers.

Join fellow Lethbridge and area alumni for an exclusive tour of the brand new Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre followed by a presentation from Sven Anders, Professor and Director of Graduate Programs in the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology. Sven will present his research, conducted with farmers from Alberta and Saskatchewan, focusing on soil and water management practices that could improve environmental sustainability and strengthen climate resilience in agriculture.

This event is open to all alumni and their guests.
