Are you interested in helping shape a new course designed to strengthen the research skills of graduate students?

The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) invites you to an interactive Consultation Workshop to explore and provide input on the upcoming Foundations of Research in Academic and Professional Disciplines course.

This modular course is being developed to support graduate students — across all disciplines and capstone formats (research papers, professional projects, theses, policy evaluations) with core skills such as:

  • Choosing and refining a research topic
  • Formulating strong research questions
  • Selecting the right methods
  • Navigating ethical considerations
  • Communicating your work with impact

It also aims to give grad students a competitive edge when applying for scholarships and external awards.

Your perspective matters. This is your chance to help shape a course that reflects the real needs and challenges of grad students across campus.

Speakers:
Dr. Tracy Raivio, Vice-Provost and Dean, GPS
Dr. Sandeep Agrawal, Associate Dean, GPS

We’d love to hear your voice — join us and help design something meaningful for the grad student community.
