Non-Profit Board Student Internship

Overview

The Non-Profit Board Student Internship Program (NPBI) is a program jointly facilitated by the Community Service-Learning (CSL) office in the Faculty of Arts and the Career Centre. The NPBI pairs University of Alberta students with a non-profit board and board mentor in the Edmonton community for one academic year (September to April). In addition to their board placements, students will attend workshops provided by the Alberta Board Development Program and complete a final project to support board governance for their partner organization.

Benefits

Through this program, students will learn about how non-profit boards operate and become engaged in the local community. Students will also benefit from the NPBI program by developing leadership skills and decision-making skills. Additionally, students will gain exposure to the non-profit sector, including what volunteer roles and career opportunities exist.
