Prerequisite Documents

Login to Alfresco

Prior to your placement or practicum, students are required to submit prerequisite documents.

Each program has a unique program checklist. Please refer to your specific program checklist to see the required documents and due dates. Typical required documents include but are not limited to, consent forms, CPR certification, Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector search, Immunization Clearance form and records, and N95 Mask certification.

Please refer to the Placement Prerequisite Document for detailed descriptions and links to all potential required documents. A PDF version can be found here.

Please note:

  • To access your program checklist and the placement prerequisite document, you will need to sign in to Google with your UAlberta email account.
  • You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to make changes to your documents (such as entering text and your e-signature) and to save your document as a PDF file.

Submitting Prerequisite Documents Through Alfresco

Most documents are submitted through Alfresco. Please refer to the checklist for your Faculty and Program for a list of required documents. Please check the Alfresco Instructions Folder for key information on how to submit placement pre-requisite documents and how to access and review the Student Document Dashboard.

Important Notes

  1. Please ensure you have selected the correct program from the drop-down list. (For example, BScNursing is not the same as BScNursing After Degree).
  2. Make only one submission for the same document type by combining separate files into one before uploading it to Alfresco. Submit only one copy of the same document (whenever possible).
  3. If a document is to expire soon, please submit a renewed version. Submitting duplicate or expired documents will delay the status updating process.
  4. Fill in as much information as you can. The document effective date is the date when a document is issued or signed, not the date when it is submitted. Please do not enter an expiration date unless it appears on the certificate for documents such as First Aid, CPR or N95 mask fit test.
  5. Check the Alfresco dashboard for any document status updates. Currently, it takes up to 10 business days for a document status to be updated.
