Whether a health professional is a doctor, a nurse, a social worker, or other health service provider, they have an ethical responsibility to practice with a caring regard for the experiences of others—their patients/clients and colleagues. At the John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre, we recognize that fundamental to ethics is a concern for who or what is other to ourselves. We embrace activities that promote ethical understanding and lead to critical reflection on matters of moral concern in the practice and delivery of health care.

The John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre is a community of individuals who share an interest in health ethics and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. The Centre itself does not have a political mandate, recognizing its individual members may or may not hold an opinion or be politically active when it comes to particular health ethics issues.
