Convocation spotlight: Brooklyn Lema
19 November 2025
Brooklyn Lema was initially drawn to KSR (Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation), and specifically the bachelor of kinesiology program, because it offered unparalleled avenues to explore her long-standing fascination with how the human body moves and functions. With a major in adapted physical activity, it was the perfect discipline to connect both passions. Now designing and leading programs for a memory care unit at a seniors facility, her ultimate objective is to return to school and pursue a career in occupational therapy.
Congratulations Brooklyn!
What inspired you to choose your program?
I was drawn to KSR because it offers so many unique areas to explore. I’ve always been fascinated by how the body moves and functions, and KSR felt like the perfect way to connect my passion for health and movement.
What’s one defining moment or experience at KSR that changed your perspective or path?
My first adapted physical activity class made me realize I was exactly where I was meant to be.
What’s one passion that drives you?
I’m passionate about making movement accessible to everyone and love exploring the many ways movement can look and feel for different people.
What advice would you share with future KSR students?
My biggest advice is to keep an open mind with your classes. The ones you expect to love might surprise you, and a random course might just spark a new passion or direction.
What are your plans post-graduation?
I’m currently working in a seniors facility, developing and leading programs on a memory care unit. My goal is to eventually return to school to pursue a career in occupational therapy.
