Speaker Series

The KSR Speaker Series invites faculty researchers and thought leaders to share their latest work and ideas on sport, recreation, health, wellbeing and society. Each talk offers a window into the innovative research and diverse perspectives shaping the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. Visiting Professor Talks

The Visiting Scholar Talks feature researchers and academics from around the world who share their expertise with the KSR community. These talks explore global perspectives on sport, recreation, health, and physical education, fostering collaboration and cross-cultural dialogue. Each session offers a unique opportunity to engage with international leaders advancing knowledge and practice in these fields.

Faculty Research Day

KSR Research Day is an annual celebration of discovery, bringing together undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty to showcase their research. Through posters, presentations, and a keynote by a KSR faculty member, the event fosters collaboration and highlights innovation across the KSR community.

Research Revealed 

Each year, undergraduate students from the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation join peers from across Alberta to take part in Research Revealed, a provincial research conference hosted by a different university each year. Through presentations and posters, students share innovative ideas and new findings with peers, professors, and visiting scholars.

The last Research Revealed was held April 8, 2026, at the University of Calgary

Leisure & Recreation Lecture

This annual endowed lecture series explores how leisure, wellbeing, and human connection shape our lives and communities. Each year, a distinguished guest – ranging from leading researchers and authors to changemakers in sport, wellness, and culture –invites audiences to see the world through a new lens. This event is made possible with generous donor support.
