In this talk, Dr. Keatton Tiernan will share a bit about himself, how he came to this work, and what he’s building in KSR through the THRIVE Lab. Drawing on his research with the Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program, he’ll discuss what he’s learned alongside youth about leadership, belonging and mino-pimâtisiwin. He’ll also share current work on youth experiences beyond high school and their involvement in shaping research priorities, along with early ideas for understanding mentors’ physical activity experiences and strengthening how the Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program (IYMP) curriculum supports their physical activity and physical literacy.
