Lymphedema and Chronic Edema Management
In collaboration with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine’s Professional Development team at the University of Alberta and the Canadian Lymphedema Framework (CLF), we co-developed the Lymphedema and Chronic Edema Management online course, with support provided through a Mitacs Accelerate-funded Postdoctoral Associate position.
The course represents a key outcome of this initial collaboration between academic, clinical, and community partners and continues to evolve through ongoing research, education, and provincial network development initiatives focused on advancing evidence-informed lymphedema care. The course represents a core component of the proposed network’s education and knowledge translation strategy, supporting accessible, evidence-informed training, and enhanced clinical capacity in lymphedema care for interdisciplinary healthcare providers across Alberta, as well as nationally and internationally.
The CLF continues to play an important role in supporting national dissemination, promotion, knowledge translation, and long-term sustainability of the course through its established educational and professional networks. Since its launch in 2021, over 350 healthcare providers have enrolled in the course.
