MLS Partner Appreciation Day

The MLS program is delighted to host its first annual Partner Appreciation Day on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. We invite all of our valued program partners to stop by and see the impact that their time, instructional expertise, volunteering, mentoring, research, and support has made! Whether you are an APL clinical partner, guest lecturer, research project supervisor, colleague, alumni, volunteer, patient partner, donor, mentor, administrative support, or anything in between, we would love to see you there!
Drop by the basement of the Clinical Sciences Building, University of Alberta Campus, any time from 11 AM - 4 PM on June 10, 2026, for refreshments, tours, and door prizes.
Formal programming, including remarks from Dr. Brenda Hemmelgarn, College Dean, department chair Dr. Benjamin Adam, and program director, Ms. Rhonda Pouliot, will take place from 1-2 pm.

What to Expect
We are pleased to offer tours of the newly revitalized Medical Laboratory Science training space, free food, presentations by the Medical Laboratory Science Students' Association, swag bags, draws for door prizes, and also formal expression of thanks from the College of Health Sciences Dean, Dr. Brenda Hemmelgarn; Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology department chair Dr. Benjamin Adam; and from Ms. Rhonda Pouliot, director of the MLS program. Connect with alumni, current students, instructors, and technologists who make up our program.

How to Get There
The event will be held in the basement of the Clinical Sciences Building, University of Alberta Campus (11306 83 Avenue, Edmonton). This building is across from the Canadian Blood Services building on 114 Street and is adjacent to the Mazankowski Centre of the University Hospital (112 Street). It is easily accessible by public transit (Health Sciences/Jubilee stop of the metro line LRT (Bay Enterprise station is closest to BaseLab, Government Station is closest to EGH), and parking is also available nearby at the University Hospital East public parkade or Lot L (University of Alberta). You can access the area by entering CSB through the 2nd floor (from the hospital, Mazankowski, or University Parkade), or through the main floor of the Mazankowski.
Please note: the University of Alberta will also be celebrating convocation on this day, so parking may be more limited than usual, especially around Jubilee and Education car parks.
