Transnational Education

  • Program Overview:

The University of Alberta and the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) launched a four-year dual-degree undergraduate program in Statistics in September 2026. Students complete the program in Beijing, China, studying a curriculum that combines courses from both universities. The 4+0 structure means that all four years of study take place at CUEB in Beijing. The course plan includes 20 U of A courses and transfer credit for 20 courses completed at CUEB.
  • Student Experience:

Students pursue an international education while remaining based in China. The program brings together academic contributions from CUEB and the U of A and connects students with instructors from different academic backgrounds.
  • Degrees and Future Opportunities:

The program develops students’ mathematical and statistical foundations and their ability to analyze data and apply statistical methods. Upon successful completion of the applicable requirements, students receive degrees from CUEB and the University of Alberta. Graduates develop a foundation for careers involving statistics and data analysis, or for applications to graduate programs in statistics and related fields.
