You have landed on the Faculty Development homepage. I hope that you will regard this as a launching point to direct you to resources and opportunities to support your academic goals. Whether you think of yourself as a researcher, scholar, leader, educator, teacher, or a combination of these, the Office of Faculty Development is here to bolster your professional identity and advancement. Recognizing the multi-faceted aspects of the faculty development journey, we regularly collaborate with our counterparts who represent professionalism, well-being, ethics, and accessibility, community, and belonging.

Here are a sample of the resources and supports that we provide:

  • Workshops to hone skills in classroom and clinical teaching, research supervision, wise use of generative AI, and addressing microaggressions
  • Peer review of teaching
  • Mentorship and coaching
  • Leadership courses
  • Preparation for tenure and promotion
  • Guidance through faculty annual reporting
  • Periodic needs assessments

I believe that the people in our Faculty are its strongest assets. We must support and encourage one another and celebrate our successes. If there are additional faculty development ideas you have, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
