Mental Health + Wellness

The Office of Advocacy & Wellbeing Psychological Services aim to provide accessible and compassionate on-site mental health services and resources to U of A Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (FoMD) learners. Using evidence-based models of treatment, we help students improve their personal, social and academic well-being.

Services are provided to undergraduate and postgraduate learners by referral through the Advocacy & Wellbeing office.

Our services include:
  • Assessment and diagnosis
  • Referrals to appropriate resources
  • Therapy and counselling
  • Workshops/presentations
  • Critical incident debriefs
  • Groups
  • Consultation
  • Coordination of services and advocacy if needed

 

Accessing Mental Health Resources:

Step 1: Email oawadmin@ualberta.ca  to set up a referral appointment with an advisor.

Step 2: Following a referral, you'll be set up for an intake or resourcing appointment with one of our psychologists. All the info you need for this appointment will be provided via email. 
  • Please note: we often have a waitlist. For waitlist estimates, please ask the advisor in your referral appointment.
