Research in the Department of Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging
Physicians and scientists in the department are involved in interdisciplinary research throughout the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, and with University of Alberta faculty members in areas of:

Our graduate student program includes opportunities for research in basic imaging sciences and clinical imaging for all levels of student and academic staff.
Faculty, residents, and graduate students conduct a range of research projects in clinical radiology, nuclear medicine and in basic sciences. Students and residents are mentored in the production of peer reviewed publications.
The department has an active summer student research program involving the fields of fetal MRI, cardiac MRI, musculoskeletal MRI, interventional radiology, biomedical engineering and medical education. The students work with university faculty, and may be sited in the main department or in research laboratories.
