Changes to the MLIS program go through various governing and advisory bodies including Academic Committee, Graduate Academic Affairs Council, and MLIS External Program Advisory Committee.

MLIS EXTERNAL PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MEPAC)

The MLIS External Program Advisory Committee (MEPAC) (formerly School Council) is the chief governing and advisory body of the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS). MEPAC consists of Library and Information Studies academic staff and representatives of other stakeholder groups both internal and external to the University of Alberta.

GRADUATE ACADEMIC AFFAIRS COUNCIL (GAAC)

GAAC has delegated authority over graduate academic programs and affairs. The SLIS Graduate Coordinator represents the School at GAAC alongside an MLIS student representative.
