Rebecca Urbat
M.Sc., R.SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist, Calgary Branch
Rebecca began working as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Institute for Stuttering Treatment and Research (ISTAR) in 2026. She completed both her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2015 and Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics in 2024 at the University of Calgary. She then went on to graduate from the Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program at the University of Alberta in 2026.
Rebecca discovered an interest in fluency through her graduate coursework and was fortunate to be able to complete a placement with ISTAR as a student. This led to a further interest in pursuing working with fluency clients as a clinician. Rebecca also has an interest in supporting kids with speech sound disorders and developmental language delays. She is excited to be part of ISTAR’s clinical team supporting the communication improvement program and fluency clients.
