SDG Month

SDG Month is your opportunity to engage with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through free workshops, panels, and events. Taking place in March 2026, and as part of SDG Month Canada, this month-long initiative invites students, faculty, staff and the local community to learn, collaborate and take action toward a sustainable future.

Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the tables of a diverse range of organizations from the University and broader community who are working towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.
Mar. 3	12:30 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.	Lecture Campus Food Bank Presentation	South Academic Building (SAB) 3-26	Join Jaysin Masse, Administrative Manager from the Campus Food Bank, for a lecture and discussion on local food security.
Mar. 10	2 p.m. - 3 p.m.	Lecture Connecting Alberta consumers to local agritourism producers: Agritourism role in promoting local	University Commons (UCOMM) 1-330 (Tour Room)	Join Dr. Elizabeth Halpenny for an insightful look into Alberta’s Open Farm Days to discover how agritourism is transforming visitor loyalty, shifting consumer habits, and securing a sustainable future for our local farms.

Mar. 11	3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.	Documentary Screening Campus Vert	Campus Saint-Jean, Room 1-70 MCM	Venez écouter un documentaire avec Campus Vert! Le documentaire sera suivi d'une courte présentation et discussion au sujet des ODDs. Come watch a documentary with Campus Vert! The documentary will be followed by a short presentation and discussion about the SDGs.

Mar. 24	11:00 a.m. -12 p.m. (MST)	Virtual CompetitionSDG Trivia	Virtual	Join participants from across Canada for National SDG Trivia, a fun and interactive online competition hosted on Kahoot!
Mar. 25	2 p.m. - 3 p.m.	Presentation Waste in Edmonton	Van Vliet Complex (VVC) 1-662	Come learn about waste processing in Edmonton and get an inside look at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre!
Mar. 31	4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.	Panel Discussion The Serviceberry Panel Discussion	University Commons (UCOMM) 1-330 (Tour Room)	Join us for an engaging panel discussion on the themes in bestselling Indigenous ecologist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer's latest book, The Serviceberry.
