Students launching rockets in Norway

04 October 2017

It's the best school field trip you can imagine. Since 2011, 46 UAlberta engineering and science students have participated in the Canada-Norway Student Sounding Rocket (CaNoRock) exchange program at the Andøya Space Center in Norway. Working with veterans of the space and aerospace industry and students from around the world, they design a mini space mission, gaining sounding rocket experience while designing and building payload instruments. Their devices are put to work when they launch their rocket into the upper atmosphere.

CaNoRock is a partnership between the Universities of Alberta, Calgary and Saskatchewan, the Royal Military College, the University of Oslo and the Andøya Space Center in Norway.
