This workshop, facilitated by the Centre for Teaching and Learning, is being offered as a part of the Universities in Times of Crisis – Conversations Across Differences series from the Office of the Vice-Provost, EDI. Prior to this session, we encourage instructors to review the recently-developed resource on Teaching During Global and Geopolitical Crisis.

During our session, the facilitator will provide a brief overview of the trauma-informed teaching and community care principles that informed its development. Participants will be invited to share the values that guide their teaching and to imagine ways that they might update their teaching materials and/or practices in line with this approach. This session is open to educators across the University of Alberta community and represents a starting point in crucial and timely conversations about capacity-building, accountability, and care.
