The web is entering a new age. Originally, it enabled the presentation of content through websites. The second web enabled collaboration through apps. However, our data was captured by giant technology companies resulting in many problems in our society. Web3 is the “ownership web” where we get all to keep the information, and content we create and where we can communicate and store other assets, everything from money to art and music. It promises to readdress many of the biggest challenges of the digital age. The core technologies that will shape the Web3 era include blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and extended reality (XR) user experiences. These technologies and the new business configurations and social behaviors that emerge because of them will define the next era of the Internet.

Join Don Tapscott '78 MEd, '01 LLD (Hon) in conversation with author Alex Tapscott on his new book Web3 which provides a cutting-edge guide to the Internet’s next era. This engaging discussion will explore the evolution of the internet and how the Web3 era will shape our lives in ways ranging from the global economy to culture.
