Please join us for reflective land-based teaching and learning on September 30, 2022, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Two walks are planned for this day, each considering the histories of these lands and its peoples from different vantage points.

  • Morning Walk (9-11 AM): ᐄᓃᐤ (ÎNÎW) River Lot 11∞Indigenous Arts Park to the Rossdale Burial Ground
  • Afternoon Walk (1-3 PM): MacEwan Treaty Marker to the Twin Graveyards (Edmonton Municipal & Saint Joachim)

Guided by Knowledge Keepers, local historians & community members, we will hear an array of stories that stand on their own and also intertwine. We will reflect on how narratives work to remember or erase individuals, communities, and sacred spaces. We will consider the past, the present, and better ways forward together.

These walks are a collaboration between MacEwan Library, NorQuest Library, the University of Alberta Library, and NEOS Library Consortium.
