UAlberta Faculty of Graduate Research and Studies Teaching Assistant Award Recipient Ilaria RubinoWhy did you choose this area of study?
I chose to study biomedical and chemical engineering to develop technologies that can help improve people's health.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I would like to be in a position where I can be proud of the outcomes of my work and feel that I am having a positive effect on society.

Who or what on campus has made an impact on your UAlberta success?

I had the support of several mentors, peers and programs at the U of A that guided my research, academic and professional development. For teaching, the mentorship and learning opportunities I received through the Graduate Teaching and Learning program offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research were fundamental for me. Finally, I would not have been able to succeed without my students.
