The Office of Safe Disclosure and Human Rights will continue to provide confidential disclosure services as well as advising and consulting on any issue relating to Human Rights, Discrimination, Harassment and Accommodation issues. You can reach us a number of ways:

The University of Alberta is committed to providing a safe work, study and living environment for all staff, students, faculty, and members of our volunteer community. To bring this commitment alive, the university has put in place the Office of Safe Disclosure and Human Rights (OSDHR), which offers important supports to students, faculty, and staff at the U of A. This is achieved through its primary mandates which are to

 

  • provide a safe, neutral and confidential space for all members of the university community to disclose concerns, and respond to those disclosures with appropriate advice, information and referrals.

    • Any person making a good faith disclosure shall not be subject to reprisal. Any person who believes they are subject to reprisal should contact the OSDHR

  • provide strategic advice to staff and faculty relating to human rights and policy

  • attend to Human Rights at the University of Alberta. This includes but is not limited to the

    • provision of advice and information on policies and procedures relating to discrimination, harassment and accommodation

    • development and implement of an educational framework focused on preventing discrimination and harassment

    • provision of information and/ or training for members of the University community on relevant policies and procedures

    • provision of guidance on creating a work, study and living environment that is supportive of human rights.
