Aziz brings a global business perspective and influence, having worked internationally in the USA, India, the Middle East (Dubai, UAE; Doha, Qatar and Saudi Arabia) and Canada.  Born in Mumbai, India, where Aziz completed his undergraduate studies in Architecture, he then moved to the USA to pursue a master’s degree in Architecture. After working in Los Angeles for 8 years, Aziz moved to Edmonton in 1994 and has since been working with Kasian Architecture, currently as Vice-President, Business Development and Managing Principal for Edmonton. In 2012, Aziz successfully completed a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Alberta. In addition, he is a Qualified Arbitrator and Mediator, certified by ADRIC (Alternate Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada). This varied experience and expertise has molded his personality into one that is committed to community development and mentoring.
Committed to giving back to the community, Aziz currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and the Universal Design Network of Canada and has recently been appointed to the Alberta Association of Architects Council. Aziz will bring his acquired corporate governance experience to the Alumni Council to be able to work alongside various committees with the goal of increasing efficiency and effectiveness. Impressed by the global impact that U of A has on various aspects of growth and development, Aziz looks forward to engaging his international network of contacts to promote the U of A’s achievements and help with attracting global enrollment.
