Your health and safety is top of mind at the University of Alberta, which is why many members of our community are now staying home.

Further to the access restrictions now in place on our campuses, we anticipate the need to continue to close buildings, or areas within buildings, this week. This will allow us to better support the maintenance and sanitizing of critical and essential areas.

You will only be able to access the buildings, spaces, floors, and doors (including exterior doors) that you have previously been given card or key access to. If it is essential that you have access to other spaces, please connect with your supervisor or Faculty Access Control Administrator (FACA) as you normally would (via email and/or phone).

For those still working on campus, facilities such as washrooms, kitchens and water fountains may be closed. This may mean using washrooms or other facilities that are a little bit further away from your work stations. Please help keep our campus safe and obey signage on washrooms or facilities that are closed in your work area.

Retrieving personal items or equipment

>> If you are unwell, please stay home.

In order to ensure safe distancing, if you need to collect equipment or personal items from campus to continue your work at home, please work with your direct supervisor to coordinate pick up. Please use this time to ensure that your workspace is clean and throw out or remove any items you may have left in shared kitchen areas.

It’s not rude, it’s safe

Remember that you can help keep campus safe and secure. Please do not hold or prop doors open for anyone you don't recognize. Take a few minutes to review these simple steps.
