Unfortunately, this may have direct and significant impacts on our research and creative activity.

This message is for all those engaged in active research,

The following information is provided by the Crisis Management Team, in consultation with the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation), the Research Services Office, the Research Ethics Office, and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.

The university is currently open and providing all services, despite classes moving online; however, this could change with little or no advance notice. We are working quickly to preserve the health and continuity of our community and operations (including buildings) to our best ability. Unfortunately, this may have direct and significant impacts on our research and creative activity.

Today, in preparation we are asking that researchers ramp down or pause research that requires institutional resources and support by Friday, March 20, 2020. Exceptions will be approved by your dean or delegate and registered with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).

The COVID-19 Response Guide for University Researchers and Research Groups will guide research operations and activities that are continuing, and also those which unfortunately have to be closed or suspended.
