Here are this week’s updates for the U of A community:

U of A Phase 2 likely starting in July

The decrease in COVID-19 cases and rate of infection has allowed for stage two of the province-wide Alberta Relaunch Strategy to safely begin today. While this will NOT immediately or automatically change activities currently permitted on our campuses, the U of A too will soon move into its second phase of relaunch — likely starting in July.

Highlights:

  • Alberta is lifting some provincial public health restrictions as of June 12.
  • No immediate changes to U of A campus services, in-person work and community activities.
  • The U of A will move into its own Phase 2 soon, likely starting in July.
  • The U of A Phase 2 will lift some community restrictions affecting libraries, indoor recreation, and gatherings on campuses. It will not affect travel, spring/summer remote classes, and remote work for the majority of employees.
