Here are this week’s updates for the U of A community:

Quarantine and Isolation Information for Fall 2020 International Students

A reminder to our international students that all international travellers are required to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon entry to Canada. Under Canada’s Quarantine Act there are significant penalties for individuals who fail to comply with this requirement. Students planning to travel to Alberta should consult International Student Services to ensure they meet current immigration and travel requirements to enter Canada.

Students who meet Canada’s entry requirements are strongly encouraged to use the U of A’s Isolation Accommodation Program. From the moment of arrival in Edmonton, the program ensures that students have the resources and supports they need to manage the quarantine requirements, and includes: airport pickup, private accommodation, meals, periodic or daily check-ins, access to campus and community health services, and after-hours support. International students who apply and are confirmed in the U of A isolation program will receive an Essential Travel Letter, which is a requirement for entering Canada.

Campus services and community activities: what's their status?

Campus services and community activities are gradually resuming or offering additional services as we look forward to the fall. More details are expected throughout August, but you can see the anticipated status of various campus services and community activities throughout the U of A's three phases of relaunch here.

Campus Safety Information Toolkit & Checklist

We have a couple of new resources on the COVID-19 Information website to help share campus safety information and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Campus Safety Checklist provides a quick list of the essentials: what you need to know about campus safety protocols before and during a visit to U of A campuses.

The Campus Safety Information Toolkit provides University of Alberta posters, documents and images to easily share campus safety information and prepare those planning to return to campus this fall. Additional items will be added to this toolkit as they become available.

Campus Life: Your Fall 2020 online hub

With only 24 days remaining until the first day of classes, a reminder to our students and instructors that you can find Fall 2020 term information on the Campus Life page. Visit the site often in the coming weeks for need-to-know information, from virtual advising to computing requirements to online student services.
