Please do your part to help uphold the following new and existing measures:

Classes and exams continue as planned

The new measures have no immediate impact on current U of A on-campus classes and exams, unless otherwise noted by your instructor.

Work from home continues

At this time, anyone who can work from home should continue to do so. On-campus meetings should be suspended and replaced with remote ones. Further direction will be available tomorrow (Dec. 9).

Mandatory masks

Masks remain mandatory at the U of A. New provincial measures extend mandatory indoor public masking requirements provincewide.

Indoor and outdoor social gatherings - PROHIBITED

New provincial measures immediately prohibit all indoor and outdoor social gatherings. As a result, no gatherings are to be held on U of A campuses and properties -- including workplace meetings.

Close contacts

As was the case before, close contacts are to be limited to members within the same household only. Individuals who live alone are allowed to have two close contacts only. These contacts must remain the same for the duration of the current public health restrictions.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS COMING TOMORROW (Dec. 9)

The Public Health Response Team is in the process of assessing the full impact that today’s new provincial health measures will have on the U of A. A full update will be shared tomorrow, Dec. 9.
