Updated May 26 to indicate that on-campus activities remain limited until further notice as the university assesses the current situation.

As we all prepare for a well earned and needed break, we trust that as a community that seeks to serve the public good, we’ll each do our part to keep our distance, wear a mask, and stay in our social bubbles this long weekend

Our collective efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19 matter and do have a positive impact, so please hold on U of A; we’re getting closer to the other side of this pandemic, and we’re doing it together. New updates from this week are listed below.

Don’t Miss Your Shot: Vaccination Update

To help protect you, your loved ones, our health care and frontline workers, and the community as a whole, all eligible community members are encouraged to sign-up for their first shot. Vaccinations are the safest and most effective way to help stop the long term spread of COVID-19. If you have any questions about COVID-19 vaccines, visit the Alberta Health Services website for frequently asked questions.

COVID-19 vaccination appointments for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine are available for all eligible Albertans with a valid Alberta health care card at the University Health Centre Pharmacy. COVID-19 vaccination appointments for the Moderna vaccine are available for all eligible Albertans with a valid Alberta health care card at the University Health Centre.

Individuals who do not have an Alberta Health Care card can still book a vaccination through AHS by calling 811 Alberta Health Link.

Minimal on-campus activity

To help stop the spike of COVID-19 and abide by the latest public health restrictions, the U of A community will remain limited to mostly online activities until further notice as the university assesses the current situation.
