Why Us?
Experience the Augustana Advantage
As a small campus of the U of A, our size and exclusive focus on undergraduate education allow us to be exceptionally responsive to your needs and provide you with the individual attention you deserve.
“Augustana gives you an opportunity to be more than just a student. I have connected with all kinds of students outside my major and year of study through getting involved, and now I can’t walk through the Forum without running into a friend. If you are looking for a community and still wanting a University of Alberta degree, Augustana is a perfect place for you.”
“As an international student who dealt with the disorienting experience of navigating a new environment, Augustana’s size, location and student diversity helped me feel settled. Best of all, living in residence has allowed me to build a home away from home and meet so many new people who have become lifelong friends.”
Where are we?
Camrose: The Place to Be
Augustana is located at the heart of Alberta in the City of Camrose — a safe and friendly university city home to just over 19,000 residents.
In the heart of Alberta you’ll find the small but vibrant city of Camrose, the perfect backdrop to our one-ofa-kind campus. From over 30 km of walking, running and cross-country ski trails and a disc golf course to local shops and restaurants in our historic downtown, Camrose has endearing adventures that are just steps from campus.

Costa Rica Trip
“As part of my program I completed a 19 day study abroad course in Costa Rica to collect data on tropical ecosystems. More specifically, I studied how to prevent an imbalance of male and female sea turtles due to temperature differences during the hatching period. But my favourite part was helping researchers release baby sea turtles into the ocean. I think an important part of university is to try different directions to see what interests you, and Augustana allows for that opportunity.”

$10,000 Award Recipient
“If I had a job while attending university, I would have a lot more stress and pressure, and wouldn’t be able to put as much effort into my schooling. The financial support I received from Augustana will allow me to further my education so that I can one day give back to this community.”

STUDENT ATHLETE
“Over the past two seasons on the hockey team, we have created a winning culture that is accepting, inclusive and dynamic. I find a lot of value in representing my school as an athlete. In 20 years, when I reflect back on my experiences as a Viking, I will have nothing but love for this school and its athletic program.”
