Order a Waste Sorting Bin
Waste stations are available throughout campus for disposal of regular day-to-day waste. When additional waste is created, such as during events, office clean-outs, or lab clean-outs, it is not covered under standard cleaning practices. These activities require the rental of dedicated waste receptacles to ensure all materials are disposed of responsibly and help contribute to a clean and safe campus.
Use our chart to decide what type of bins you need to rent:

Important: Each bin comes with a label that lists acceptable materials. We provide bags for the landfill waste bins only. Additional bin charges may apply if your bin needs to be emptied during your event.

How many bins will you need?
The number of bins can be highly dependent on the needs of your event or clean-out. If you aren’t sure how many to order or what can go in the bins, reach out to zerowaste@ualberta.ca.
Set up your bins
- Group your bins together
- Keep the lids consistent (all open or all closed)
- Use the following order (to be consistent with other Zero Waste stations across campus):
