Administration Building tree pruning and removal
10 March 2026
Trees on our campuses are highly valued and are only removed when absolutely necessary. A professional arborist has recommended that trees immediately next to and touching the Administration building on North Campus be removed to prepare for the upcoming abatement and demolition of the building.
This will include a selection of mugo pines, white cedars and alders. Additional trees identified as being in poor condition or declining health may also be removed, as recommended by the arborist. At the same time, other trees in the vicinity may be pruned to preserve their health.
Please keep a safe distance from any work in the area and obey posted signage.
Work on the building is expected to begin in spring 2026. The abatement and demolition of the Administration Building is part of the university’s plan to align campus space with current and future institutional needs. Visit the Administration Building Abatement and Demolition web page for more information about the project.
