The Green and Gold Teaching Showcase is a unique opportunity to celebrate and learn from the excellent teaching happening across our campus.
The showcase fosters a culture of support and shared learning by inviting instructors to observe one another's classes in a unique, non-evaluative setting. As an observer, you will focus purely on pedagogical approaches, gaining insights and reflecting on how these methods can enhance your own teaching practice.
This showcase is designed to fit your schedule, and is not a full three-day commitment; your participation is flexible and built around two components:

Self-selected classroom observations:

Participating classrooms will be open for observation on October 27–29 during regular class hours.

As a visiting instructor, you sign up only for the specific class periods that work for you and interest you. You can choose to visit one or multiple classrooms, pending availability.

Space is limited per classroom session to ensure the comfort of the host instructor and students, and to respect classroom capacity.

- Post-observation reception: An informal coffee reception will be hosted on the afternoon of October 29 (2:30 - 3:30 p.m.). This gathering provides a dedicated space for reflection and collegial discussion with your peers.
Eligibility + Registration
Registration is open to all University of Alberta staff.
As part of the registration process, you will be required to select those classrooms you'd like to observe. Classroom profiles will be made available when registration opens in early October 2026.
