Learn about AI and Program-Level Curriculum and Learning Outcomes

The U of A's Centre for Teaching and Learning offers Program-Level Curriculum Support now to define and guide you through review, renewal, and development processes.

CTL welcomes engineering faculty and staff to register for upcoming events that support your curriculum renewal work:

• Recommended for all program leads and developers (with two options: Sept 15, in person or Sept 21, online) The first ever essential overview to clarify and strategize the entire process, Start Here: What You Need to Know About Program-Level Curriculum
• Program Learning Outcomes 1: Foundations workshop (Oct 15, in person) to gain tools for authoring effective program learning outcomes
• Program Learning Outcomes 2: Refinement (Nov 26, in person) to receive constructive guidance to polish your outcomes.
• Curriculum Mapping 1: Foundations (Nov 17, in person) provides an overview of this work, with a Refinement workshop scheduled early in the Winter term.

You’re also invited to the Curriculum Collaboratory, a lab space where we identify issues that can be addressed at the program level. The goal is to identify issues, determine what’s needed, and enact solutions that can be shared with our U of A community. In the fall, we will start with the following topics:

Mapping AI Guidance at the Program Level – Testing a New Framework (Sept 8, in person), where we will review and try out approaches to defined AI-related and human-centred competencies in your academic program.

Pedagogical Guidance on Course Delivery Modes - In-Person, Online, Hybrid, and Hyflex (Oct 6, in person), where we’ll consider the evidence and share information about delivering courses in these modes.
