Required Graduate Professional Development
Over the course of your graduate degree in Engineering, you will complete the following professional development components. Professional development requirements are tracked through eClass.
Self-enroll in the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
For students admitted in Fall 2023 and beyond
1. Complete an individual development plan (IDP) following the FGSR instructions- Upload your IDP Completion form to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
- Deadline - within the first 12 months (MSc/MEng) or 18 months (PhD) of your program
- All FGSR PD activities scheduled through CampusBRIDGE are eligible
- Two sessions offered by Engineering Carrer Connections are eligible and highly recommended (offered throughout the year)
- Career Branding & Networking for Success (2 hours)
- Engineering Your Career: Job Search Strategies that Work (2 hours)
- You'll receive a confirmation of attendance for each session. Attendance records are kept in the Faculty and do not need to be uploaded.
- Upload PD Activities Completion form, along with your attendance record to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
- Deadline - by program completion (MSc/MEng) or within 3 years from the start of your program (PhD)
For students admitted prior to Fall 2023:
Requirements specified by FGSR
1. Complete an individual development plan (IDP) following the FGSR instructions- Upload your IDP Completion form to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
- Deadline - within the first 12 months (MSc/MEng) or 18 months (PhD) of your program
2. Attend 12 hours of professional development sessions relevant to your IDP
- All FGSR PD activities scheduled through CampusBRIDGE are eligible
- Upload PD Activities Completion form, along with your attendance record to the ENGG GRAD PD eClass page
- Deadline - by program completion (MSc/MEng) or within 3 years from the start of your program (PhD)
