Camp 6 Iron Ring Obligation Renewal Ceremony

Whether you received your ring recently or decades ago, this ceremony offers a meaningful chance to reconnect with the profession’s traditions. Come celebrate its enduring legacy and renew your commitment to protecting the public through responsible engineering practice by partaking in the updated ceremony.

The Iron Ring is more than a symbol—it is a lifelong reminder of an engineer’s commitment to integrity, ethical practice, and service to society. Camp 6 has administered the Calling of an Engineer in the Edmonton region since 1930 and has obligated just under 39,000 engineers and hosted their 200th ceremony this year. In 2025, this uniquely Canadian ceremony was updated to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the obligation in Canada.

Join Camp 6 and fellow engineers honoring the past, embracing the present, and renewing the obligation that the Iron Ring represents on September 19th, 2026 at 12 p.m. on campus during U of A Days.
