This swap-and-trade event is a great way to donate your excess or unused lab supplies and pick up items from other labs. While donating items is not a participation requirement, we highly encourage you to both donate and take items from this event in the spirit of a fair exchange.
This event is for U of A labs only. Please bring your ONEcard as identification.
Taking items
Please bring whatever you need to carry items back to your lab with you — carts, boxes, bags. We will not have the ability to transport items for you.
Donating items
We have partnered with Distribution Services to pick up your donations for free.
Please sign up by Friday, May 31, 2024, 10 a.m. Donations will be picked up on June 5 and 6, 2024.
Acceptable items
- Lab supplies
- Office supplies
- Small lab equipment under $500
Donations must be in working order and safe to use — properly cleaned, decontaminated and free of chemical, biological or radioactive residues.
All donations must be accompanied by a signed HSE equipment decontamination form. If you have questions about this form or cannot provide one, please contact emso@ualberta.ca.
Unacceptable items
- Items with an SMS inventory tag
- Items that appear to be unclean or unsafe
- Chemicals
Items may be rejected that are not suitable for Freecycle, do not have an associated HSE equipment decontamination form, or are donated in excess.
