The Next Step: Academic Position series kicks off with a look at what goes into a strong academic job application. This session features a short presentation followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with assistant professors a few years into their own faculty appointments, offering practical, real-world advice on entering the academic job market.

The series is designed to support postdoctoral scholars (PDS) as they transition into faculty roles, covering three key stages:

• Preparing for an academic interview
• Starting an academic position
• How to start a lab and hire your first student
