Spring Signals: Birds, Bats, and the Start of a New Aerial Season in Alberta

This January, shake off the winter chill and look forward to an evergreen & gold spring. Join the University of Alberta’s very own Matina Kalcounis-Rueppell, dean of the College of Natural & Applied Sciences, and Erin Bayne, professor of biological sciences for a lively, family-friendly exploration of the birds and bats that bring Alberta's spring to life.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and guests are invited to arrive early to wander through a display of sights and sounds. Immerse yourself in real soundscapes, imagery, and hands-on elements that set the stage for an evening of discovery.

Open to all, this uplifting session will help you reconnect with nature, discover the science happening right here at the U of A, and learn what to watch (and listen!) for as the first signs of spring emerge across Alberta.
