Ready to be part of something meaningful?
Consent Week is five days of creative exploration, real conversations and community building that will change how you think about relationships, boundaries and respect. It’s about building the kind of campus culture where everyone feels safe, respected and heard.
Consent Week is organized by the University of Alberta's Sexual Assault Centre.
Activities
Consent Collage: Create collages that explore what consent means to you. No art experience needed—just bring your curiosity and your voice.
Consent in Practice Workshop: Intended for U of A students and staff, this workshop discusses what we know about consent and where that understanding comes from, explores how we experience consent in our day-to-day lives and unpacks how fear of rejection shapes how we practice consent. This workshop is highly interactive, including ample discussion and activities to give you a deeper understanding of the topic and how it relates to your life.
Consent Trivia: Spin the wheel at our Consent Week trivia table. Answer questions, win swag and learn something new.
Dear Lara Documentary Screening: Description TBA
Engaging Men: Consent Culture with Tuval Nafshi: Healthy relationships start with clear communication and mutual respect. This workshop equips university men with practical skills to understand consent, navigate boundaries and engage in relationships that are respectful, responsible and empowering for everyone involved. Through practical scenarios and guided discussion, participants will strengthen their communication skills, challenge common myths and learn how respect and consent go hand in hand.
Resource Fair: Explore interactive booths, connect with community organizations and engage in meaningful conversations in a welcoming, inclusive space.
Working for Change Workshop: In this workshop, participants will engage in an open discussion about sexual violence prevention and consent. Learn about important definitions, break down common myths and misconceptions, learn how to support survivors of sexual violence and talk about ways we can work towards prevention in our everyday lives.
