Program Structure
Earn your certificate by completing the required four (4) online, asynchronous courses for a total of 12 credits. Each course has a scheduled start and end date and is seven (7) weeks in length. These courses are fast-paced and move quickly. Students can expect to spend approximately 15 - 20 hours per week on coursework, sometimes more. The program can be completed in as little as eight (8) months, but students can take up to four (4) years to complete the credential.
Courses can be completed in any order, but are conveniently scheduled sequentially, allowing you to complete the program in two (2) academic terms.

Four-year bachelor’s degree (or its academic equivalent) from an academic institution recognized by the University of Alberta.
- There is no required minimum admission GPA to apply

Applicants with exceptional, relevant prior learning or tenured work experience who have not completed a four-year bachelor’s degree may apply for special consideration, with approval granted by the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS). Where applicable, applicants must provide proof of English Language Proficiency (refer to English Language Requirement).
Admissions to the program are made on a competitive basis. Although you may satisfy the minimum admission requirements, acceptance into the program is not guaranteed.
IMPORTANT IMMIGRATION INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
As this is a fully online program, it is not eligible for a Canadian study permit or a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Prospective students should carefully consider the immigration implications before applying.

Estimated Total Program Tuition (2026-27): $9,916.32
Tuition is calculated per course and applies equally to domestic and international students. Additional fees may apply.
